In May this year, US-based EFI launched Fiery XF Version 5, a flexible and scalable high-speed digital front end and colour management workflow for wide- to superwide-format production and proofing.
Available nationwide from Kemtek, this latest EFI software helps printers easily achieve precise, predictable high-quality prints, while streamlining production workflows.
Advancements enable operators to produce accurate, high-quality work quickly and reliably every time. What’s more, the new, customisable interface makes the system easier to use than its predecessor, as it can be tailored to meet exact, individual production needs. By eliminating touch points, we’ve also eliminated manual job submission, reducing set-up time and operator errors.’
Key improvements in imaging, productivity and ease of use also include a combination of Fiery Colour Profiler Suite and new spot colour tools, plus more than 50 updated wide- to superwide-format print drivers. There’s also a sophisticated visual editor that provides a true WYSIWYG experience.
What’s more, advanced spot- and process-colour optimisation removes the need for time-consuming trial and error colour profile correction or complicated device link profiles creating the best possible colour output.
Support for HKS, Toyo, Pantone and the Pantone Plus library, with 336 fresh colours, ensures top-class reproduction, no matter what spot colour a designer picks, and the modular software package, which includes more than 20 Fiery printer or software options, allows businesses to introduce additional capabilities as needs evolve and/or budgets allow.
Fiery XF Proofing Version 5 also includes the Colour Verifier Option, guaranteeing proof production in line with industry standards such as ISO, G7 or FOGRA PSD, as well as user-defined standards. This option also supports job optimisation based on standard wedges, or the EFI Dynamic Media Wedge that monitors all image relevant spot- and process colours.
An EFI software maintenance and support agreement, provided for the first year after purchase, includes an ongoing stream of software releases, including the latest device drivers, plus all minor and major product upgrades, at a consistent and cost-effective charge.
Furthermore, updated industry standards, reference colour space definitions and measurement devices also form part of the renewing software maintenance contract.
