The legacy lives on

As he prepares to hand over the reins to incoming Chairman, Dave Savage, Vivian Rudaizky reflects on the outstanding achievements of Kemtek’s management and staff and the loyal support of South Africa’s diverse printing fraternity.

My retirement as Chairman of Kemtek Imaging Systems Holdings Limited doesn’t entail a break with the company, especially as our family shareholding is an extremely important asset.  We welcome the change of management and offer our full support to the new Chairman and our strong Board of Directors and top management, which remains unchanged.

At age 86, after 56 years of service to the industry, it’s more than time to hand over my reins of management.  Our new Chairman, Mr David Savage, as a shareholder and Director of many years standing, is extremely well acquainted with the management of Kemtek and is himself, also an experienced Director of Abland (Pty) Ltd, a large property construction and development concern of high reputation. Our non-executive vice Chairman is my son, Peter Rudaizky, who was a founding employee and Director of Kemtek in South Africa and who now resides in Australia, running Kemtek Australia, as well as a successful company selling search light systems into the military and air force on a world-wide basis.

At Kemtek, we’re thankful for the full support we have had from our senior and junior staff over the years and I am particularly proud of the fact that our overseas principals, and our customers in Africa and Mauritius, are totally supportive of our management.  I am convinced that Kemtek’s reputation and inherent skills will continue as heretofore.  I would, at the same time, like to thank those of our principals who have written letters of acknowledgement and approval of my decision and shown confidence in the company’s forward management.

I appreciate our senior management inviting me to continue as a non-executive Director and I will be happy to do so whilst they believe this to be necessary.  I wish Gavin van Rensburg, our Group Managing Director, good health and my sincere thanks for his contribution to the company and my assurance that the future will be ensured in his hands. In particular, I also add my confidence in our long-standing Financial Director, Ken Spellas, our Director, Mark Broude, for his excellent work in our Barcoding Division, as well as his capable National Sales Manager, Chris Meyer, our Sales Managers in our Graphic Arts Division, Brent Bradbury and Gordon Smith, our Workshop Director, Gavin Rubin and his staff country-wide and Joe Bosman, our National Stores Manager.  We also have full confidence in our National Sales Director resident in Cape town, Pierre Driver, Branch Director in Durban, Steve Gordon, Branch Manager in Port Elizabeth, Steve McCarthy and Branch Director in Pretoria, Dirk Bezuidenhout, for their unfailing efforts to achieve customer approval, and to all our senior employees in sales, support systems, manufacturing and workshops, stores and delivery, for their untiring efforts to achieve that impossible task of absolute perfection.

In retiring as Chairman, may I say an important and sincere thank you to our customer base and all those who have trusted in our business and our technology for all of the years we have been, and for all of the years I know we will be in the future.

The legacy lives on.
